At Storebox, we aim to provide transparent information about our facilities so you can store your items with ease. Because our sites range from internal multi-story buildings to outdoor units, the physical layout varies.

1. Physical Access & Entry

Ground Floor Access: The majority of our ground-floor units provide level access suitable for trolleys and wheelchairs.
Raised Thresholds: Some of our units feature a small "lip" or raised threshold at the door. Please note that we do not provide portable ramps; if your unit has a threshold, you are welcome to use your own ramp if needed.
Drive-Up Units: Some "Drive-Up" units are raised significantly off the ground. These units are typically not suitable for wheelchair access without specialist equipment.

2. Lifts and Upper Floors

Goods Lifts: Where multi-story storage is available, we often provide goods lifts to help move your items between floors. Please check site signage, as many of these lifts are strictly for belongings and are not permitted for passenger use (including wheelchair users).
Stair Access: In facilities where a passenger-rated lift is not available, upper floors are accessible via standard staircases. We recommend booking a ground-floor unit if you have mobility requirements.

3. Assistance Dogs

We welcome registered assistance dogs at all our locations. To ensure a safe environment for all customers:

Assistance dogs must be kept on a lead at all times. Owners are responsible for their dog’s behavior and for cleaning up after them.

Pets and other animals in general are not allowed on the premises.

4. Lighting & Exit Safety

Common Area Lighting: Our corridors and common areas are well-lit, using either manual switches or motion-sensor technology.
Internal Unit Lighting: Please be aware that individual storage units do not typically contain internal lighting.
Safety Features: Emergency exit release buttons are installed at standard accessible heights across all facilities to ensure ease of exit for all customers.

5. Staffing & Assistance

Storebox is designed as a self-service facility to provide you with maximum flexibility.

Unmanned Nature: Most of our sites are unmanned. There are no staff protocols in place for manual handling assistance, such as helping with heavy doors or lifting items.
Manned Offices: At locations with an on-site office, staff are available for account and check-in support during business hours but are not permitted to assist with the physical moving of goods due to health and safety regulations.

Recommendation: To ensure you have the best experience, we always suggest booking a ground-floor unit if you have any concerns regarding mobility. Please contact our support team before your move-in date if you would like to verify the specific layout of your unit.
