Our Stratford, East London is extremely well located in the north east corner of Cambridge, just off just off the A118 High Street on the outskirts of the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and just minutes away from the A11/A12.


All units available are at ground floor level which you can drive right up to.


The Stratford site has an automatic gate, phone number recognition system and 24 hr CCTV.

Booking Process

How to book;

Each site has a phone number recognition system enabling the gates to be opened via your mobile phone, so you can access the site and unit immediately.


  • Select your location, unit size, complete the booking form/terms and conditions, provide your photographic ID.
  • Make payment.
  • Receive an email containing your unit number, all access information and the number to call to open that gate.
  • Add the number provided to your contacts, call upon arrival and the gate will automatically open.
  • Locate your unit, move in, secure with lock provided.

Here are a few answers to the most frequently asked questions.

Do the units leak and what about condensation?
ANo, our containers are new and water-tight.  We have customers (including staff!) who store water sensitive items such as electronics and furniture with no problems, and in some cases for years.

Think about this – almost everything that’s imported into the UK from overseas comes in via a shipping container!  Clothing, furniture, domestic goods, machine parts, medicine, toys, computers, mobile phones – all start their journey to the UK in a shipping container.

If the container is kept dry inside there will be no condensation as we have ventilation in all our units. If, however someone brings wet or waterlogged items into the unit this will cause condensation issues as this water is trapped in the unit.  Therefore, please ensure all your items such as washing machines and fridges/freezers are completely dry before placing them into storage.

Is there anything I can't store?
AStorebox has very few limitations on what you can store, there are obviously a few exceptions and they are obvious to see why.  Our TERMS AND CONDITIONS outlines that you can’t store items such as explosives, fire arms, compressed oils or gases, counterfeit or stolen goods, flammable liquids and gasses.  If you are unsure and need clarification, please just call one of our storage experts who will be happy to help. 

How secure is it and do I need my own padlock?

AWe take the security of your items and our sites very seriously and so in addition to the automatic gates and 24-hour CCTV, we provide you with a high security steel padlock which is designed to fit tightly under the steel lock box on the units.  Using the padlock provided is a condition of using our storage, however there is also space for you to add your own security padlock in addition to the one provided on the arms of the unit door if you so wish.  We take a refundable padlock deposit of £40 for the padlock provided.  Once you have vacated your unit we will complete a unit check and if all padlocks and keys have been returned, we will refund this deposit back to you.

How and when do I pay for my storage?


When you book a unit online you can pay via our secure payment page.  Alternatively, you can call and speak with one of our storage experts who can take a payment over the phone.  This payment will secure your unit for the first four weeks (unless you have selected an introductory offer in which case your first payment will cover the first 8 weeks).

We then invoice every 28 days (4 weeks) in advance and your invoice will be emailed to you in advance of the due date.  Payments will then be taken automatically every 28 days (4 weeks) from the card nominated on your first payment.

How much notice do I need to give if I want to move out early?
AStorebox requires just 14 days’ notice of your intention to vacate your unit by email.  Providing the required notice was given, we will refund any unused rental charges back to you on vacation (unless a long term prepay discount has been applied).

What is your minimum and maximum rental period?
AThe minimum rental period is 14 days.  There is no limit on how long you can rent a storage unit for and you can prepay in advance for up to 52 weeks.  We have customers’ who have been with us from the very start back in 2011! 

Do you offer discounts for long term storage?
AIn addition to any promotional offers we may offer occasionally, customers who are willing to prepay in advance for 26 and 52 weeks will automatically qualify for a prepay discount of 10% and 15% respectively.  If you have opted for a specific long-term discount and vacate early, we are not able to refund any unused rent.  We will also still require the notice of your intention to vacate.
Do I need insurance?
A We do require that you have insurance in place to cover the contents of your unit.  We can provide a fully comprehensive self storage policy for as little as 90p per week, per £1,000 of cover.  You will be required to complete an inventory of all the items kept in storage.

Can I change the size of my unit if my storage needs change?

Absolutely, we understand that storage needs can change over time and that’s why we offer flexible contracts allowing customers to grow or shrink their storage requirements as necessary.  A phone call or email is all that’s required to enable a transfer.

What are your office opening hours?

The office opening hours are Monday-Friday 9am-6pm, Saturday 10am-4pm, closed Sunday.  Out of office hours we have an emergency call facility.  Access times for the individual sites can be found under the ‘site information’ tab.
